Klosterhof 7, Rothenburg
Food was very good. Local and fresh. The wine was tasty although we had hoped for recommendations of local vine. We arrived early for our reservation which they accepted. Based on service, or lack thereof, they wanted us in and out quickly to turn table. We sat with empty plates and glasses until we asked for the check. Meanwhile around us people were getting served and attended to. Maybe it's because we're Americans or ??? I've eaten there before but service much better and I felt welcomed. Not this time.
Cozy and friendly service. Decoration and space great. Just a note it was too warm because the heater was under the bench.
Great hotel, very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast and service with a good mood and desire for guests. The evening meal by candlelight was also magical. We can recommend it without reservation.
Very tasty food and good wines in a cozy atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and quick to serve.
I stayed here for one night, such a nice guest house, it’s over 650 years old and has the character, which does mean the staircases can be quite low and narrow, but that is part of the charm. There is parking available for free between 6pm and 9am on the street, be warned the side streets can be quite narrow to drive in, on reflection we should have paid for parking at a car park and then walked here. Breakfast was very good, a plate of cold meats and cheese, yoghurt, a bread basket and a choice of eggs.
Close to perfection. Perfect food, super nice service and the ambience is hard to beat. Next year again.
Fairly priced cuisine. Operation quite stiff. A very nice setting
Good food in a great atmosphere, but as a tourist you don't have the impression of being particularly welcome here. Whereas the local guests were served regularly, little or no attention was paid to us and other tables by day tourists. After almost 45 minutes without any waiter visit and despite multiple requests from different people, we were ignored. We and 3 other tables then paid at the counter and left the restaurant. It's a shame because everyone would have liked to have had a drink. You get the impression that you don't have to attach importance to good service with day tourists and that even a potential additional income with us here did not contribute much to the motivation.
Very, very nice. Very good food. And the rooms were very clean and very rustic and classy.
2 days before table reservation, were 10 min. Earlier in the restaurant (7:20 pm), wine was served in a friendly and really relaxed manner on a nearby bench until an additional table was set up for us (with candlelight). After a quick order of food nothing came ... at the next table was delivered, another glass of wine ordered, eye contact sought with the waitress, at 21.10 in the restaurant with the reference to "forgotten food" asked the bill for the wine ..., no apology from the boss, really a scary insider tip.
very nice Clean rooms Super nice staff The best breakfast in a hotel so far☝️
It is a really nice location in town. But the staff is really rude. Especially the owner.
An absolutely beautiful, quaint hotel in which you immediately feel at home! The centuries-old building has its very own charm, you immediately feel transported to another time! The rooms are small but nice. And the kitchen is definitely worth recommending. An extensive drinks menu rounds off the overall package. All in all, absolutely recommendable and I would check in here again immediately on my next Rothenburg vacation!
We spent a great summer evening there. The food was plentiful and very tasty. Very good German cuisine. The Kässpätzle were hearty and the steak to the point. Despite many guests, the staff was very attentive, friendly at all times and had a brisk saying on their lips. We felt good. The restaurant is located right next to the theater, which is why you can watch the performance while sitting outside. The ambience is very harmonious. People like to sit here until late at night.
English is acceptable. The liver sausage is handmade and creamy and delicious. The maul tachet is also big and about the size of two cards. There is also a second floor seat. It is listed in "How to Walk the Earth". The service of beautiful waitresses is good. There are terrace seats in summer. Meat dishes come with a separate potato dish for free.
Unfortunately, very bad experience! We were received by the cook shortly before the opening time, who unfortunately could not tell us whether we were allowed to sit outside in the sun or not. His colleague (red-dark-haired short-haired) pointed out to us very unfriendly that we were allowed to sit outside for 90 minutes, but had no place inside when it rained. Others only wanted to have a drink there, they should only have stayed there for 30 minutes, even though the tables outside were not reserved. So you keep guests away from the loaf and that in a difficult time, where hardly any people are traveling. The boss put a reservation sign on all tables, so that nobody sits down !!! Food was average, you can make it ...., hospitality equal to 0, we will definitely NOT be back !!!
A very cozy restaurant. Keep the selection of dishes very small, but this benefits the quality. The price level is also right. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. Here you can eat very comfortably. Definitely highly recommended. Therefore for the food, the staff and ambience 5 stars!
The wine bar fully met my expectations, very friendly staff, the steaks fried perfectly, the salad fresh and the vegetables tasty. And the best - the ambience. A room that I have rarely seen so wonderfully cozy and decorative. Thanks for the nice hours.
We had dinner at the restaurant which was just perfect, while I was enjoying the steak, the waitress came with another plate apologising that the first steak was "Too Small" and that this dish is complementary.
Top!
This place is hidden gem in rothenburg! I was very impressed by interior with all antique items and well tided up room. And of course wonderful breakfast! Especially christmas season!!! Staff at the hotel also wonderful!
◆ Quiet location as it is far from the center. The building has a history of hundreds of years, and the atmosphere is good. It seems that there are 6 rooms. The exterior and interior are cute, but the facilities are new and comfortable. However, I could hear the voice of my neighbor because the wall was thin. ◆ Breakfast is wonderful. Besides, the female staff who came at breakfast was cheerful and energetic, and the start of the day was better. In contrast, the male staff seems to be quiet and strong and reliable. I have good memories of waking up with the church bells and would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.
Was pretty good
Charmingly beautiful from the inside out! Food was incredibly delicious, the prices are better than what you find at the “center” of town. Añia was the sweetest server helping us with our wine selection. She noticed we spoke Spanish and was accommodating with us saying she only knew a little (she knew much more!) The only reason for the one star down was another waitress when we entered was very rude when we asked if there was any seating available with a firm “no” and swiftly passed by. That didn’t stop me from talking to someone else who accommodated us with a table 2 minutes later.
My husband and I had dinner here on 7/25/19. The food was delicious and at a very good price. The staff were very friendly. It was one of the best meals we had in Germany. The ambiance of the restaurant will be something we will never forget, with all the charm it has. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Very cutesy traditional old B+B, with plenty of character and charm. Our room had everything we needed and the breakfast was to die for. Drops one star because we had an unfortunate run in with the man running the bar in the evening who was quite rude and reluctant to serve us, but everyone else we encountered was lovely.
Ate at the restaurant. Insanely cozy, lovely food, lovely wines and very fair prices!
Simply magical it is here. The service very friendly and courteous. The ambience unique and the food hmmmmmmmm. Very imaginative and successful. Simply excellent.
City was beautiful and the rooms were very nice, yet the stay was hard to enjoy since the owner was unbelievably rude and impatient. Would still recommend given the terrific location and rooms. Maybe he just had a bad day?
Amazingly quirky, old beautiful place, great food. Book for dinner!
The evaluation is of the Hotel. The hotel has a very good price-quality ratio. The value per night including breakfast is very good and the breakfast is continental and is very well served (the cheeses especially are delicious). It is a very old house with few rooms, so the atmosphere is not that of a typical hotel. The location is good, it's about 4 blocks from the downtown area. The treatment of the staff is correct. The entry hours are very short, I omitted to read that in the reservation and when I arrived at 20:00 there was no longer reception, but they had left us a note with the key for us to enter. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom too, the heating is good. Two details that I did not like is that the shower cannot be hung at a suitable height for standing bathing, so it has to be held by hand during the shower, which is uncomfortable and also (at least my room) did not have a screen. Also the walls are very thin and I had to listen to those in the next room having sex. Except for those details, the hotel is recommended!
Super
The most charming place I've ever stayed. Absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Wonderful breakfast! Slightly tricky with a heavy suitcase and narrow staircases, but well worth it. Great location also.
Great place to seat down for dinner and a drink. Price tho
I just wish the German hotels would supply proper pillos
We were in transit and spent one night here. It was wonderful! The rooms are small, quaint and authentic. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The selection of wines is extensive and delicious. ?The breakfast we liked and the staff was also polite. Furthermore, the staff is prepared for international guests.
Adorable little hotel a 5 minute walk from the marketplace. Paid parking is available just outside of the city walls. The check in process was a little confusing as there is no official desk and the staff is trying to run a restaurant while also dealing with hotel guests. The rooms are small, but adequate. The restaurant has a small yet fantastic menu. The service was slow, but very nice. I highly recommend eating here. We had the potato soup and meatloaf which came with a very nice salad and delicious vegetables.
We went for dinner last night and unfortunately we had to leave the place after the starts that we barely ate. We were trying to get attention for around 30min as we wanted to order wine and unfortunately nobody was even around the dining room, after this time we went to the bar area and asked for wine also we said that our food was cold as something natural to do we wanted to have the food with wine and then we were treated extremely badly, the waitress in charge of the restaurant is so rude and has not experience in management a restaurant, also she told us that the main courses were on the way when we hadn't even eaten the starters, also we ordered water on arrival but it didn't come. We left that "restaurant" and we went to ZUR HÖll where we had the most amazing night. I highly recommend ZUR HÖll restaurant, food, wine list and service are excellent.
Very kind host, even though I didn't see that check-in was 1700 or 1800 (and arrived at 2015). So cute! So quiet! Pics of #6.
Love the food!
Absolutely loved this little place. I think they said the building in which we had a wonderful dinner was built around 1200?!! This is the genuine article if you are looking for a true German culinary experience. Highly recommend!
Small, cute and romantisch! Delicious foods and customer friendly
Beautiful restaurant, very charming and romantic :) the lovely lady attended to us straight away and got us a table without reservation , she was very welcoming and friendly and her english was exellent. The food was served very quickly and it was really nice , the pork loin with mushroom sauce was beatuful. Enjoyed everything we got between myself and my wife and had a nice romantic experiance, atmosphere was really good. The price of all the dishes is also very good Thank you
Excellent food, great people, And English Conversation Club meets here every Wednesday after 6 pm.
Outstanding food! The best potato soup I have ever had!! We also had pork pork tenderloin with mushrooms and bratwurst w/sauerkraut. Absolutely delicious! The service was great. It is a family-run place, everything prepared and decorated with love and care. Highly recommend! I wish they were open for lunch too the following day, we would have come back for more.
The waiter treated us really rude. We're three girls from Taiwan without reservation. When we arrived, he told us that there weren't any places. We asked for the open time and expressed that we're willing to wait. They replied: "you can wait outside for five hours" And the clients bursted into laughter. I thought it's kind of racial discrimination because they didn't treat others without reservation like this. Anyway, it was really a terrible experience.
Full of old world charm and gemütlichkeit, this restaurant serves simple and delicious fare. I had the pork medallions and spatzle smothered in delicious mushroom gravy. Hubby had the Nuremberg sausages with a very smooth sauerkraut. With drinks it was only 34€. Highly recommend.
Hosts were not very friendly.
I am writing this review on the restaurant, not the hotel. This restaurant gave us by far the worst experience in Germany, that I almost wanted to leave Rothenburg immediately. Thanks to the rude servers. They ignored us because we are not German! Food was extremely slow. Since there are plenty of restaurants in Rothenburg? I would avoid this place at all cost. This is not a place for non-German unless you want to get a taste of the bad attitude!!!
Snobs, plan and simple. We came in under The recommendation on Google and trip Advisor. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a frown and they promptly stated they were full. We looked around to see plenty of spots to sit that were open and not reserved. With as friendly as everyone else is in town, you can find a friendly group to enjoy your time.
